Dear Karishma,
This is really rocking !! All of us do dream as in how to strike the balance between home and work. We wish to have a work life balance, since every working woman has a bit of guilt that we are not able to give enough time to our kids or family.
At the same time we want to prove our potential and our skills as a working woman and this is an incredible platform you’ve created for the women.
Hats off to you.. for this lovely initiative.
Im working in a firm as a Asst. Mgr – HR. I handle all the HR activities and also handle Training & Development. My passion is to extend my contribution in the field of Training & Development. Especially to the women – to help them fight the struggles of everyday chores, since I’ve also been looking for ways to enjoy whatever I do, either at home or at work. I want to boost the morale of womenhood and make them realise their value and also want them to enjoy their life with a right balance.
Rgds,
Yamuna

Those are inspiring words
Yes have’nt we always known the ‘guilt’ element & simply when we’re just trying to live. But it makes us more special because we still care!
So Ladies what do you feel- on the ever talked about ‘work/life balance’ topic. Isn’t it time we REALLY talked about it & helped each other on this one?
Hi
Thank you for initiating such a platform. I would request you to please give your precious advice. I am an aspiring fashion designer and I am currently working in a Export house in Kolkata. I have done my Graduation from NIFT,Mumbai (Batch 05-09) and want to work in Mumbai or anywhere in South India, as they comprise of most garment companies of India. Can you please help me with how should be my approach towards the companies where I apply. I have been trying for this since almost a year, but mostly I get a reply that they are looking for localites. Please advise.
Women usually suffer from more than their fair share of the burden of balancing family and work life. Getting caught in the work/life balance trap will continue to be an ongoing challenge for us.
We need to take care of our own SELF. It is necessary to schedule some time for ourself. Busy working women or housewife caught up in the daily chores need to recharge. so we should not feel guilty about taking time for ourself.
We need to make time for the activities we enjoy -
It may be Reading, Swimming, Dancing or having a good relaxing massage.
We should get out of the house with our friends once in awhile. Do whatever makes you feel good, so that you are charged to be superwoman both at work and home.
Dear Karishma,
Thanks for your quick response. We all are aware of stress levels women go thru’ to keep everyone happy around her. But the discussion here is to highlight the whole beauty of the way women look at things.
Inspite of having high stress levels we women do not want to give up either sides of our life. We’re not arguing about what we need to eliminate from our things to do list. Its just that we always look for ways to balance both and ways to get charged to do more n more..
Hi Karishma,
I just found this website, great idea!!!
I am a recent graduate with a Masters degree in International Business and currently work in the Information Technology field. I would like to change fields and work in the cosmetics industry, that is, work for a multinational company that specializes in products for women. I want to travel and work with women. My senior thesis was a paper on the pros and cons of whitening creams worldwide. Would appreciate any advice you might give me. thanks Pam
Hi Pam,
I have no idea if this would be for you or not, but I am a business developer for Shaklee Corp. a social marketing company which currently has branches in 6 countries and plans to be in 50 within the next ten years. Shaklee has three awesome natural skin care lines, “Nutriwhite” (lightens the skin), “Enfuselle”, clinically proven to reduce the signs of aging, and “Minerelles” make up/cosmetics that are actually good for the skin.
I am looking for entrepreneurs who want to develop their own business full or part time, like to work with people, & are self motivated.
You would be in business for yourself, but not by yourself, as we have weekly telephone conference call trainings with the top leaders of our company as well as regional workshops and global conferences. You would also have the opportunity to travel.
If you would like to check out my website here is the link http://www.healthysolutionsunltd.myshaklee.com Feel free to ask me any questions you might have
I am an inventor with a Ph.D. in Chemistry who found passion in developing cosmetic products that solves problems some of us encounter daily. VB Cosmetics, Inc. is my company. We manufacture products for other companies and also under our own brands.
I am always looking for women who want to have their own business and be independent distributors of my products. VB Cosmetics is NOT an MLM. Our distributors make money through their own efforts by selling directly to salons and spas and/or consumers.
Current product lines are Dazzle Dry nail care system (dries rock hard in 5 minutes) and Abrione natural skin care (anti-aging products and therapy for acneic skin). The products are designed to make our beauty regimen fast and easy so we could more with our limited time and at the same time feel good about ourselves. When we look good, we feel good and we share that with people around us.
From my heart,
Vivian
Pam,
I forgot that there is a lot of info. on my website so here is a more direct link to the cosmetic section;

I am an entrepreneur (a recruiter and into outsourcing). Definitely i would like to know how i can get help from here and how i will be able to help others here.
Thanks and all the best
Hi Karishma… this indeed is an excellent initiative and I’m sure we women will be able to help each other a lot through this platform.
Just a brief intro of myself…. I was working as a Sr. Manager Training in a US based company, where in we used to design all kinds of print ads for US newspapers and magazines. I am pretty well versed with all the graphic designing applications.
I took a sabbatical from my work 3 months back. During this period I updated myself in Six Sigma Green belt though i could not work on any projects. I am now looking for a job in Training and Quality.
Hopefully this forum will help me a lot.

Hi Veda
I am sailing in the same boat. I have 17+ yrs. of experience and I took a sabbatical in January this year due to some family and health issues.
Now when i have started looking for job, I am not getting the kind of offers that I was expecting. However, I took this opportunity to do the following:
1. I am taking this opportunity to identify other fields that interest me and have decided to change my field.
2. I am currently upgrading my skills in accordance to that.
3. I am also taking this opportunity to plan for my own business that i would like to start in 5-7 yrs. from now.
4. And ofcourse I am getting connected to all the lost friends.
All I want to tell you is that do not get depressed with your situation. There may be many of us facing similar predicament, so you are not alone. Secondly, you can make the most of this time that you have with you right now.
Hope this helps. Please do share your thoughts with your friends on this site whenever you feel down. We are there for you.
All the best and take care-
Raminder
